One of five characters designed to go along with my “Future Slums” environment. The idea for the world was that there was a clash between people who believed in enhancing the human body through robotics, while others strive for human purity. I wasn’t exactly sure what I was going to do with this character. I started out by drawing and old man with an old-looking robotic arm. There was something about the attitude in his face and the bareness of his arm that I liked, so I decided to go with it. I still don’t know why he has a gun, but I do know that he wears skinny jeans, yellow sneakers and a yellow watch because he was a hipster before he was old.As for his old-tech arm, I imagined him as a character who got his arm replaced in a time when the fusion of man and robot was very young. I think he’s against what it has become now, so that is why he has kept the old technology. Click for high-res image
