Quirks

This is a triptych I did for one of my classes. We were assigned to do a triptych in any medium, inspired from the word ‘recreation’. I decided to return to an old character I developed in high school. It began with random ink sketches and eventually grew into an entire character. My old drawings of birdman aren’t nearly as detailed as this. It was really exciting to go back and re-invent him.

I wanted to work with three stages, those stages being ‘bound’, ‘transformation’ and ‘eruption’. Each piece in the triptych has more motion from the birdman, as well as more texture and saturation.

This isn’t quite finished yet, but it’s close. I have some touch ups to do on the third part of the triptych and I want to make the second part more lively.
